Motesto

janspeed è una nota officina inglese, nota sopratutto per i suoi scarichi.

se non leggo male la preparazione è TT turbo techins , nota per le sue elaborazioni turbizzanti.

ma siamo sicuri che abbia quel kit quel mezzo.

Richiamate in servizio Jagitalia !!  ;D ;D

Ciao

Spiacente!

Hi.

Thanks for letting me use english.

It always amazes me how everyone else can understand english, yet us english are useless with every other language!

Did i understand correctly you have an on-site translator? The bit im finding difficult is navigation!

Well im glad you are interested in my janspeed.

I am among a small group of people who own such cars, i have a friend nearby who owns two janspeeds, an xjr version such as mine and also a daimler. I then have another friend who owns another daimler.

There really is little information available, even janspeed have not got anything (i have a contact who works there trying to find information for me).

I have been taking a closer look at the photos of that white xj40 and from the engine bay pictures it looks different to a janspeed setup.

jimb0

nope, there's no translator... it was just a joke cause we have a guy here who's not able to speak italian (and, yes, he's italian) so every time we have to work out what the hell he wanted to say.
i guess we don't have real estimators of janspeeds here. there was just one of us -well known to buy old crap cars and sell them after few months for double the price (at least he claims)- who found that white jaguar and was trying to collect info about.
the problem is that a lot of times people in italy write holy shittin crap about the car they are trying to sell... (so probably it's not a real janspeed, as you pointed out)

xjrtwinturbo

ah!

i wasnt sure if it was a joke or not.

don't get me wrong about the white xj40, its definately a turbo'd one of some description, its not a standard setup by any stretch of the imagination, i doesnt say on the advert anywhere about it being a janspeed. im wondering if its a turbo technics or even an arden bi-turbo.

just a bit of background on the janspeeds:

janspeed started converting the xj40 in 1988 as jaguar never designed the xj40 to take the v12 engine, so basically customers wanted more power than the straight 6 gave, so they bolted on a pair of rotomaster turbos and retro-fitted a entirely different management system. This gave them around 293bhp and about 340lb/ft torque which will see the car at 60mph in just under 6 seconds, which for a 1900kg automatic car is damned good. They supposidly built around 60 cars, but due to the very small numbers left (i have found 3 in good condition and mine and know of 3 others that did exist at some point - one the janspeed demonstrator, another missing in action and the third scrapped) it would seem they either didnt survive well or janspeed built a lot less.

ive only driven mine a few times, once to get it on our transporter, taking it off and a blast down our workshop road and then again moving it into the workshop, i floored it going down the road (the road is probably 1/4mile long) and it goes scarily quickly.

as said in my post on xj40.com, i am restoring it and uprating it, going to fit a manual 5 speed gearbox from a later 5 speed supercharged xjr, along with brembo brakes, i basically want the smooth refined nature of the jag coupled with brutal force of the turbos through a manual gearbox.

xjrtwinturbo

also, could somebody give me a run down of this topic?

the google translator is poor!

i basically got that he was looking at it and trying to work out what it was, but somewhere i read that he bought the xj40 and put it on stands under a car cover?
