In the annual statistical comparison of reliability for Germany?s biggest car club ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil Club) the MINI finished first in its class, ahead of its closest competitors, the Mitsubishi Colt, Toyota Yaris and Opel Corsa. While other main competitors in the same class, for example the VW Polo, Peugeot 206 and Renault Clio finished considerably further down the list of 21 cars.

It was the first time that the MINI, which was introduced to the German market in the autumn of 2001, was included in this annual comparison. This is a great success for the MINI, achieved by the dedication of associates and the continuous improvements within all areas of Plant Oxford. This, together with the project, sales and marketing teams, has created a global product of recognised premium quality.

This report, which may come as some surprise following complaints about quality on the MINI2 forums, and other recent surveys such as JD Power, should help install, or reinforce, prospective MINI owners confidence that not only is the car fantastic to drive, it is, in the main, a very reliable little car!
